Workshop program - schedule for theday

The workshop is associated with the AUIC Australasian User InterfaceConference which is part of ACSW.The scope of the workshop includes experimental hardware and built systems sensors and software mechanisms for context awareness software support systems including middleware agents for pervasive, invisible, and ambient systems design of context-aware, pervasive, ubiquitous, wearable applications reports of experience with applications user experience and needs with applications and prototypes, their usability and utility social implicationsThe growing availability of very small, lightweight, easily networkedcomputing and sensing devices has led to an explosion of interest inubiquitous, wearable, pervasive, context-aware computing (and, in a healthy sign ofintellectual fervor, no agreement on whatto call the field).The number and diversity of small research groups in Australia and NewZealand calls for a collaborative and exploratorymulti-disciplinary workshop which can fruitfully bring together these groupsto share their results, their plans, and their visions - utopias, anarchies, and nightmares alike.

Submissions

The workshop is expected to include conventional papers (describingresearch, industry developments, or experience) andtechnology demonstrations.Submissions of original papers up to 10 pages long will be acceptedin Postscript, PDF or Microsoft Word by Friday 13 September.Papers must conform to the formatting and copyright guidelinesfor the series Conferences in Research and Practice in Information Technology athttp://www.jrpit.flinders.edu.au/CRPIT.html.Sample formats are available forWord (RTF)and LaTeX (example documentand style file)Proposals for technology demonstrations should be made by email tothe same address as for papers.Submission detailsSubmissions should be sent as attachments to email to wicapuc@cs.anu.edu.au.The email must state the contact details (email and phone) for aprimary author.

Review and publication

Papers will be reviewed by two members of the program committee andjudged on originality, significance, correctness, clarity. Authorsshould bear in mind the breadth of the backgrounds of workshop participants.The workshop proceedings will be published through the Australian ComputerSociety, in its Conferences in Research and Practice in InformationTechnology series. It is expected that they will then be madeavailable through the ACM Digital Library.Papers may not be published unless an author attends the workshop.

The workshop will be held in conjunction with the AustralasianComputer Science Week, in Adelaide, South Australia.Registration for any one of the conferences in the week will allowattendance at the workshop.
