01/04/2008: Windows Vista SP1 Memory Requirements
With Microsoft's SP1 update for Windows Vista generally being made available for download during April; how much memory will your pc require? Realistically, for optimal performance anything above 2GB of memory will be suited for the higher end editions, while 1GB will be optimal for the Home Basic edition. The advanced graphical interface and new background services (that take up quite a bit of memory before the first application is opened) is why the extra amount of memory is required to run the various editions of Windows Vista. If you have any further queries, please contact our sales staff on (02) 9439 3665.
Featured Products - Solid-State Drives (SSD)
Introducing Solid-State Drive (SSD) technology—delivering the benefits of flash technology in
a completely different way. More reliable, faster, and more durable
than traditional magnetic hard drives, our SSDs are a forward-thinking
solution for mobile users—users who want longer battery life, and can't
afford to lose or corrupt the data stored on their notebooks. Likewise,
SSDs are a great alternative for the PC enthusiast who is always
looking for the very best in system performance. Why an SSD?
Put simply, SSDs are flash-based drives that offer greater
reliability and faster performance than traditional magnetic hard
drives. Consisting of just NAND, a controller, connectors, and a PCB, the
SSD has no moving parts, creating greater stability by eliminating the
mechanical delays and failures associated with a conventional hard disk drive. SSDs are data storage devices that utilize
non-volatile (do not lose data when power is removed) flash memory for
computing applications that traditionally rely upon a mechanical hard
disk drive. RIDATA SSDs are designed as industry-standard drop-in
replacements for hard drives that use a SATA connection.
Technical AdvantagesThe RIDATA 2.5" SSD supports Serial ATA (Native SATA
2) standard. It delivers 1.5 GB/s and 3 GB/s transfer speeds at SATA
interface. This product present high read/write access efficiency; up
to 110/70 MBps at RIDATA Ultra speed SSD and 170/105 MBps at Ultimate
series. Besides it also offers
an excellent stability and reliability with SLC NAND to secure it can
meet the 4 million hours of MTBF requirement. The RIDATA 2.5" SATA SSD
designed in the system could provides more advantages than conventional
hard disks (HDD), such as system boot time, application launch time, up
to 10x/3x faster random small index data read/write… etc. Apart from
performance these factors, characteristics compare to HDD, like
robustness to prevent the unrecoverable data from power outage in
operation or in rugged environment to endure high shock/ vibration. SSD
has a better reliable feature; that secure the MTBF and data integrity
and all these since the solid state technology is adopted. AvailabilityUpgradeable.com will offer RIDATA 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB SSDs in Q3 2008. Register your interest here.
