Aricent SNMP
Aricent SNMP Overview :
Aricent SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a complete implementation of a multi-lingual SNMP Agent supporting SNMPv1, SNMPv2c and SNMPv3 Network Management Protocols. The two-tiered architecture of the software implemented as 'Protocol Middle Level' and 'Protocol Low Level' routines, provides an easy interface for the managed entities.

Aricent SNMP Features:
Provides multi-lingual target management capability with support for SNMPv1, SNMPv2 and SNMPv3 protocols.
Interfaces with UDP sockets for remote management using the SNMP Manager.
Provides interface for sending traps from the target applications to the SNMP Manager.
Translates traps between the SNMP versions depending on the version of the managers.
Provides complete support for User based Security Model (USM) with support for HMAC MD5, HMAC SHA for authentication and DES-CBC for encryption. Supports all security levels (NoAuthNoPriv, AuthNoPriv, AuthPriv).
Supports View Based Access Control Model (VACM) with provision for defining MIB Views and Access Policies for different user groups.
Maintains a list of SNMP Managers (Community table) authorized to use its services.
Extends VACM support for SNMPv2 by providing Community mapping for VACM MIB Access database.
Supports the SNMP statistics.
Comes along with a Middle Level Code Generator tool for easy MIB integration.
Supports both MIB based and CLI based configuration.
Aricent SNMP is tested for CERT advisory.*
Conforms to Future Software Architecture for Portability (FSAP2), thus ensuring highly portable code that uses flexible buffer and timer management libraries.
