ooo templates by sean

As a few of you already know, I hate the default templates in OpenOffice.org, but love the productivity suite itself. I decided to post a file with a few of my own presentation that can be maintained with OOo’s extension manager.Version 0.2.0 contains the following:ooimpressapothecaryBottlesBTCChalkboardcircularcompladientsgrapefruitLetterpressOOo ProfessionalorangebooksquarestechnologyoowriterLAFBusinessLetterpersonalCoverLetterpersonalReferencespersonalResumeoodrawOrigami_Paper_CD_CoveroocalcCheckBookRegistergradesThe OpenOffice.org Extension page for this project can be found here: http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/ooo-templates-by-sean By sean, 18. Gentle for XFCE

Gentle XFCEborrocop suggested a Gentle XFCE theme awhile ago here.I think he has created a stunning image of what XFCE could look like, so I went ahead and put together the Window Manager protion of it.Billy Cantrell created a gtk theme for Gentle, all I did was remove his panel portions, to help it look right with XFCE.Changelogv 1.1: I centered the titles, decreased the height of the window manager by 1 px, created a different appearance for the close-active button, and added different appearnces for the pressed buttons.v 1.2: I’ve added shadows to the active and inactive title text, I’ve defined the colors of the title text directly in the window manager theme, I added shadows to all windows and the panels, menus are now transparent, windows are now transparent when they are being moved.v 1.3: I’ve added the gtk theme based on Billy Cantrell’s work.v 1.4: I included Olivier Fourdan’s suggestion for defining the XFWM4’s color in the gtrkrc file, so the GTK theme will work better with other XFWM4 themes.[download] By sean, 10. Happy Easter

Easter TuxUsually, I don’t post this sort of thing to TLB, but my daughter requested that I draw an Easter Tux for her, and I certainly couldn’t deny her. So hopefully someone else will enjoy my quick and dirty Easter Tux (I made it with a combination of the GIMP and Inkscape). You can also download the SVG version here. By sean, 15. Fun Fonts

You want a lot of fun new fonts without sorting through the 6,760 fonts available here?No problem, myself and a couple of others offered lists of their favorites. They’ve been combined and now the list is down to a much more manageable 76 fonts. You may simply download a tarball with the 76 fonts, or if you want an easy way to install them systemwide for all your users and happen to have a Debian based systems, then download the DEB file. These fonts sport a broad range of licenses (some of which are rather idiosyncratic) but they are all freely redistributable.funfonts.tar.gz [download]fun-fonts_1.0_all.deb [download] By sean, 12. Opinion:Why MS Windows Isn’t Ready For The Desktop

Now as you have most likely surmised from the title, this article is intended to spoof the plethora of articles proclaiming that ‘Linux is NOT, has NOT, and NEVER will be ready for the desktop’, but the content of this article is also intended to be both factual and informative for those that have been schnookered by the anti-Linux hype. Open Source Presentation Templates that Will Make Proprietary Office Suites Jealous

Have you ever tried to create a slideshow presentation only to find that the templates that come with your favorite open source office suite overly bland?I’ve been there as well, but instead of trying to import various MS Office templates that aren’t really that nice either, I’ve decided to create some of my own with the Open Document Format in mind. I’m releasing all the following templates under a LGPL v. 2.1 or later license. Read the complete article » By sean, 5. April 2006, 10:04 o'clock Open Document Format 48 comments (Show inline)

RIAA: Who are the pirates? Free and uncut!

Authored by Zeek GrekoIt seems to me that every few days there is yet another article on the Web about the recording companies’ attempts to bring rampant pirates to justice. I think the RIAA’s idea of justice might be a little one-sided and a double standard. Fact is, the recording companies have been flying the Jolly Roger since Day One. They have been perpetrating an injustice on all consumers of their products for decades and I see no indication they are going to correct it. Read the complete article » By sean, 5.
