If you are the first of your family to attend college, our NEW Scheduling page contains window schedule sheets that may be used in conjunction with our program planner sheets to help you set your schedules each semester. You should confirm your schedule with a guidance counselor or academic advisor before registration to allow them to check your work!
The program has an outstanding reputation with employers of the midwest and regularly has more Jobs than it can produce graduates to fill them. Students are regularly employed before they complete their studies.
This program is known for having students complete design Projects as part of their course requirements. Students are encouraged to compete in state and national design contests where they uphold an outstanding reputation of accomplishment.
The program has three aspects that make it stand apart from other community college programs in the state, nation and world;

It offers both architectural and mechanical instruction.
It instrutcts in three major CAD software programs.
The Kishwaukee College CAD Technology program has been front and center in its use of the Internet to view CAD drawings. For a teaching institute, we have a reputation in research and publishing. Recently, the Kishwaukee College CAD Technology program started a new focus of preparing teacher candidates for transfer to both Illinois State University and Southern Illinois University to meet a technology teacher shortage that is approaching a crisis.
Another recent development of our program is we now offer an online basic AutoCAD course (CAD151) for those who want to see what CAD is all about. While you do not need to own AutoCAD, or attend any classes on campus, you do need to have the use of an AutoCAD system or drive to our campus where we have 3 computer labs for your use. A final unusual aspect to the program is it boasts one of, if not the, first CAD program websites on the Internet and regularly ranks tops in major Internet search engines with a search string of "college+CAD" or "CAD+college".
