The company has determined that under certain conditions the new ultracompact Apple USB power adapter’s metal prongs can break off and remain in a power outlet, creating a risk of electric shock. They have received reports of detached blades involving a very small percentage of the adapters sold, but no injuries have been reported. Users with ultracompact power adapters should immediately stop using them until they exchange them for a new, redesigned ultracompact adapter. The iPhone 3G comes in a compact box (black or white depending on the colour of the phone) and includes the following: Power adaptor, dock connector cable, earphones with an integrated microphone, an anti static cleaning cloth, sim eject tool (essentially a glorified paper clip) and of course the iPhone 3G. The Company posted revenue of US$7.46 billion and net quarterly profit of $1.07 billion, or $1.19 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $5.41 billion and net quarterly profit of $818 million, or $.92 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 34.8 percent, down from 36.9 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 42 percent of the quarter’s revenue.
