Safari Gear (Add-ons for your Favorite Browser) It's a big week in browser-land with another WebKit creation joining us. Don't forget that Gears came to Safari.
Join me for a quick Freeloader Friday look at Gears for Safari and other Safari add-ons that rev up Apple's Browser. In Freeloader Friday Posted by brian on September 5, 2008 5:07 pm Comments (View) So that's it, huh? That's the Microsoft Seinfeld ad that is gonna put ''Get a Mac'' to shame? If this is what all those rumors were about, not only does Apple have nothing to worry about, but I no longer think Jerry Seinfeld is a traitor to the Mac cause: he totally scammed Microsoft out of their money and gave them nothing in return.
Jerry Seinfeld, you're my hero. In Elsewhere on the Internet... It's called "Self Destruct." In the artists own words...
I found myself in a conundrum when I was lettering a book that was in lowercase and I didn’t have a groovy enough lowercase computer-style font for a certain Golden Avenger… so I whipped up this little gem and now it’s yours! Comes with Regular, Italic and Bold.
Also be sure to check out Blambot's beautiful and reasonably-priced pro fonts. In Posted by RickMacMerc on September 2, 2008 11:17 pm Comments (View) The Escapers releases update to Flux The Escapers has announced the release of Flux 1.4, their web design application. The new version features many user-requested improvements, bug fixes and UI enhancements. Javascript support has been improved also, with support for remote scripts, and inline code in the HTML headers for better support for using third party services such as E-Junkie.
Flux is now being sold at a new price of GBP£40. In Shareware Posted by RickMacMerc on August 31, 2008 5:23 pm Comments (View) When did this get added: Podcast sort on AppleTV I have to say that, ever since I got my Apple TV, I have become a video podcast snob--if a podcast isn't available in a video form, I'm not bringing it in on the Apple TV.
That is why the presumably new sorting feature within the Podcast section on the Apple TV is of particular interest to me. I now no longer take an interest in a podcast and click on it in the menu only to be disappointed that it is audio only; I can simply set the Apple TV to only show me video podcasts! Sweet!!

The new version simplifies the process of preparing photos for printing by efficiently handling resizing, cropping, and sharpening.
Blow Up 2 sells for USD$249 with an upgrade price of USD$99 for registered users of Blow Up 1. Blow Up 2 requires either Adobe Photoshop CS2 9.0.2 or later, or Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0.1 or later. You might also want to be using a PowerPC G5 or Intel processor and Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later and a monitor with 1024x768 resolution or greater. In Announcement Posted by RickMacMerc on August 27, 2008 1:00 am Comments (View) Cloud Control: Setting up Your Own Server Web 2.0 has our information spread all over the globe (and accessible
from anywhere). This is a good thing, most of the time. But what about
local backups and server outages? (MobileMe subscribers feel free to chime
in).
So, how does one take control of their information in the cloud
without losing the global accessibility?
Join me for a Freeloader Friday look at software and setup of your own
server running right on your own Mac. In this first in a series, we'll set
up the foundation of a powerful server you control (locally or remotely). In Freeloader Friday Posted by brian on August 22, 2008 7:49 am Comments (View) Copy and Paste from app to app on the iPhone Cut and Paste for iPhone from Cali Lewis on VimeoI'm breaking our iPhone silence to point you to some news I find interesting even as a non-iPhone-user. A guy named Zac White has found a way for iPhone application developers to add copy and paste functionality to their apps without violating the terms of Apple's SDK. The technique used, outlined in the video embedded here, requires that developers agree to adopt the method in order for everyone's apps to play nice together.
I find the SDK violation avoidance method intriguing and will be interested to see how Apple reacts.
