Standards willinclude licenses, standards, protocols, RFCs, etc.The OSR will NOT be developing standards (except for itsinternal purposes). It's concept is faciliate the interchange, maintenance, and tracking of standards developed by the Open Source community as a whole.There are many standards that are applicable to the Open Sourcecommunity from licenses like the GPL to file system standards.Many of these are in the IETF RFCs. However, the problem is trackingall those that are outside the RFCs and STDs. These oftenreside in project sites or various locations around the Internet. The object of the OSR is to collect these standards and keep them in one central location.Site Re-activated 6/2/2002!!There has been much activity in open standards since thissite was originally created (and essentially ignored). TheLSB is progressing forward. There are several other open standards sites and much interest.With help, we can use this site for its intended purpose!
