IARCS, the Indian Association for Research in Computing Science,announces the 28th Foundations of Software Technology andTheoretical Computer Science conference in Bangalore, India.The FSTTCS conference is a forum for presenting original resultsin foundational aspects of Computer Science and SoftwareTechnology.This year, FSTTCS will be colocated with the Sixth Asian Symposium on Programming Languages and Systems (APLAS 2008).

Scope:

Authors are invited to submit papers presenting original andunpublished research in any area of Theoretical Computer Scienceor Foundational aspects of Software Technology. Representativeareas include, but are not limited to: Algorithms; including randomized and approximation algorithms, distributed algorithms Automata and Formal Languages Computational Complexity Quantum Computing and other new Computation Models Logic in Computer Science, including: semantics, specification, and verification of programs, type theory, rewriting and deduction Concurrency Cryptography and security

Submission Deadline : 7 July, 2008 , 23:30 Western Samoan Time (GMT-11) Notification to Authors : 1 September, 2008 Final Version due on : 6 October, 2008

Submission:

Authors may submit drafts of full papers or extended abstracts.Submissions are limited to 12 pages using 11-point or larger font, withadequate spacing and 1-inch margins all around. Abstracts deviatingsignificantly from these guidelines risk rejection. Proofs omitted dueto space constraints may be put into a clearly marked appendix (but thepaper should be intelligible without the appendix, as reviewers are notrequired to read appendices). Concurrent submission to other conferencesor journals is not acceptable. Submissions are to be made electronically only. The site for submissions isEasyChair.

Proceedings:

Accepted papers will be published as the proceedings of the Conference.In a new initiative towards an open system, the proceedings will takethe form of a free, open, electronic archive with access to all.Additionally, authors will retain full rights over their work.The accepted papers will be licensed under the Creative CommonsAttribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 2.5 License: Creative Commons-NC-ND
