 Searching since 5/24/2004 for large primes of the form 121*2^n-1 This project is building on the work of 15k and Wilfred Keller et al. and is specifically a subsidary of the search of k*2^n-1 for k<300 This work is also based slightly on the work of the 321 search The short term goal of this project is to search for n up to 4,000,000 Longer term goals are create searches similar to this one for other k<300 and to expand n higher than 4,000,00012121 Sister project #1, 2721, has been made open to the public for testing. Quick Start Guide

Modified from SlashDudes original post1. If you don't have LLR.exe, download llr.zip here!2. Reserve a range that is currently available by right clicking on the word "Available" and saving the target to your computer, and requesting the range with the above form, so that two people don't work on the same set3. Open LLR, and select the "Test" menu, then "Input Data"In the "Input File (From NewPGEN):" box enter the file from step 2 (IE - 121_200000-250000.txt)In the "Output file:" box, enter prime.txtMake sure "starting at line number:" is set to 1Click "OK"(If the LLR icon doesn't turn from "Red" to "Green" repeat step 3, and it will start the 2nd time you hit "OK")4. Open your llr.ini file that will be generated in the same folder as your llr.exe and add the following lines to the bottomverbose=1Verbose=1This will include more information in your results file and help us further understand the distribution of large primes.5. If LLR finds a prime number, it will appear in your prime.txt output file under the header information. It will look something like this:6973715854680:M:1:2:258121 1234567 Where the top line is header information in every prime.txt file (not an actual result) and "121 1234567" is your found prime. 121 is the base, and 1234567 is the exponent. This number will qualify for the top 5000 prime list! If you don't have a 15k top 5000 prime list prover code, I'll help you set one up so you will receive credit in the record books for the new prime!6. When the test is complete, submit the results file using the above form.7. Get another range and return to step 2.Confused? Stuck? Email me

So you've found a prime? Heres how to submit it to the top5000 database.

1. go to http://primes.utm.edu/bios/newprover.php2. Put in your full name, username (last name) and an email address3. Go to your biographical page when you get your email. (there should be a link once you get an email from the, but if its not, you can find it here http://primes.utm.edu/bios/page.php?id=xxx where xxx is your id number that they email you)4. Click create a new proof code.5. Under proof method select Jean Penne's LLR6. In the box below where it says "none" erase that and type in "12121search, NewPGen" without the quotes7. Click submit.8. Make sure all of the information is correct and then press to complete submission at the bottom9. Click on your last name (or username) on the next page10. At the bottom it will say "Submit primes using the code: ___" (click on the new code.)11. In the box type in your prime (121*2^xxxxxxx-1, where 121 is the base and xxxxxxx is the exponent of your found prime)12.
